my twitter handle is has Riding(and former occupation) but when I created this one I went with my first name. I have thought about changing it to twitter handle but never really gotten around to it.

My real name is Todd.

As a child, I was monstrously hideous and gigantic and used to vent my anger by destroying major Japanese cities until Mothra took me down.

We must about the same age because I remember this vividly, at the time I didn't speak English so I didn't understand what they were saying but I Watched it regularly. There was also this TV program with 5 people that were each riding a robot wolf/dog (or beast of some kind) and to defeat the vilain at the end of the program they would join together to form a giant robot. I don't remember the name but one Christmas I got the 5 of them and I was a very happy kid.

EDIT: I remembered, it's VOLTRON https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uS5b8aQ6z8

Yes, but some of us native North Carolinians are Dukies who blanch at the term. Still, your advice is always on-point, so I'll forgive it and hope you're a packbacker.

I was going to bring up Voltron. I really liked that show.

Weird and they ran in the same years and MASK sparks no memory.

I'm digging how this thread is quickly becoming a flashback thread for us 80's kids.

Actually, I'm a Georgia Bulldog grad and fan but my daughter went to UNC. I pull for all the local teams, but my heart goes to the Dawgs.

B Conner is my name; at the time I signed up here, I lived in AZ. That has since changed, however, I use the same user name on all the bike forums I visit. I've come up with plenty of much cooler names, but people get to know your screen name, so I change up my avitar instead to keep things exciting....lol.

Ah yes, I recently changed it since I like the show so much. It is what keeps me motivated to ride, especially during this time of year.

My name is Jacob and I was living in China when I signed up.

It seems now that I jinxed myself with this name; I left China not long after I registered here.

Teshima is a closer fit for me. We both rock the ponytail, we're both ordinary cyclists, and we both don't mind the support role.

Did you know Cannondale is using Teshima in their ads in Japan?

He's even hawking mini-velos as commuters.

Matariki is the Māori name for the star cluster we know as the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters. It's the name of my sailboat. Ever since I was a kid I would scan the sky for this cluster and feel a lot of excitement when I located it. Coincidentally, the seven stars are featured on the flag of my city, Durham, NC, also called the Bull City. Since the Pleiades are in the constellation Taurus, the bull, it's all connected.

YUP. My folks bought us kids a bunch of Beta tapes (remember those?) to watch when we were really little, and one of them happened to be a Spanish-dubbed collection of "Heckle and Jeckle" cartoons. We didn't understand a word of it, but we watched it over and over and over...

It was also the logo for Subaru (symbolizing several companies that had been merged to form Fuji Heavy Industries) before they reorganized the stars.

Clyde1820's typical of the sort of naming I happen to do, when randomly picking a handle. Has no real meaning.

Found out soon after that "clyde" has a particular meaning among some. Who knew?

putupwet is typically what i do with my bike after i rodehard. "rodehard" was taken, and I typically don't really ride all that hard, so putupwet works well as a truthful observation on my daily bicycle commuting way up here in PNW. Also, I don't spend much time grooming my steed, so "rode hard and put up wet" still holds. that's about it. Looks like rain out there...

I have a daughter at NCSU & one who just graduated at Peace, so I'm a packbacker, pacer & seahawk (me @ Wilmington) supporter - but in our beloved basketball, pull for UNC (brother) & Duke above all others. Yes I'm conflicted There's a thread in foo about avitars BTW. Obviously by the many Bono threads a lot of folks here stay in their section of choice.

My last name is Deal, born on the 4th, and 1st real bike was a Fuji. Also works this way: I really like Fuji's and am always looking for a good deal on a Fuji.
On the avitar, my favorite band is Metric, and it has cycling meaning too, so it also works on 2 levels.
