Camelback Gone Bad
I bought a Camelback some time ago and the thing leaks like nothing else, no matter what I try. I've talked to others and they all experienced the same problems I have. I'm getting tired of the excess dripping that comes out of the bottom of the unit, even if everything's been checked and rechecked (hoses and other fittings). Has anyone else experienced these problems and is there a quick fix that I can try?

Camelback makes lots of products and they can potentially leak from various places so a little more specificity would help in narrowing down your problem. Replacement components are readily available from Amazon and elsewhere once you determine exactly what part is leaking.

I've had many, many bag and never had one leak from anywhere but the cap. The edge seams are sealed very well and are almost never a problem.

You probably aren't leaking from the bottom but are leaking from the top. The most likely spot is the bag's "cap". Either it isn't on properly or an o-ring has deteriorated. Fill the bag, turn it upside down, and squeeze it a little. You'll see where the leak is coming from.

But they never wear out in my experience. Between me, my wife and two kids, I've had 25 or 30 different Camelbaks since the early 90s. I've never had an edge seam problem and some of those have been in nearly daily use.

I've only had one (purchased around '90) and it failed at the edge seam so I replaced the bladder.

Many years ago I bought a Camelback Mule and when I got home filled it with water I realized that it had a defective bladder which was leaking at the bottom seam. I returned it to the store and got a replacement.
I also have a Camelback HAWG which I used a lot and never had any problems. Camelbacks are very well made and it's very rare to have problems with them.

Go to Walmart or Target and look in the outdoor section for bladders; if they have a bladder of a suitable size/shape for your camelbak, it will be cheap enough to test as a replacement, probably around $5 as compared to what, $20-30 for a branded replacement?

Try emailing Camelback. I ran over mine with my truck and ended up breaking a couple of the buckles. I emailed Camelback, told them what I did and they sent me a set of new buckles no charge.
