Man, I want this, along with the Xtracycle conversion kit, for my utility bike. But then I would have to justify spending up to 2 grand on a bike I paid $250 nearly a decade ago, that's actually a bit too small for me, and that I really only use for getting groceries or tooling around with the kid. But it's a PITA hauling groceries up and down hills for 4 miles between the store and the house.

Ebike store. They are off exit 304, about 3 blocks east of I-5 on Rosa Parks Ave. Owner is Wakefield Gregg and he is the coolest guy ever to talk to about ebikes (and a lot of other things.)

I think part of the problem with installing a throttle on my bars is that they are not standard drop bars. They are "ergonomic" bars that are made of some wider tubing and they are flatter than they are round on the tops. The throttle looks like it is intended for strictly round tubing. The quick fix was to add a this extra accessory bar to the handlebar or stem. I didn't want it. It didn't look clean. I've had one of these extra accessory bars before... it was flimsy. I've put nearly 100 miles on the bike now. I haven't had any need for the throttle. If you're in need of speed and power, just put it into level 4 assist and put just a little pressure on the pedal... you're gone!

For me, the only thing on the bar is the console. I have a garmin 200 on the stem. I'll need to post a picture.

Yep, this makes hills disappear. Just for the heck of it, I found one of the steeper hills in the area to climb... something I probably wouldn't try on a regular bike. It's 1/4 of mile and rises 160 feet at nearly 15% grade in some spots. I had to work, but I still got up the hill never going below 7 mph (I would have been walking my regular bike... after falling over.) Remember, we're talking about a 50 lbs bike, a 53 y.o. rider, weighing 225 lbs.

Actually all of the throttles are designed for flat bars, and drop bars are a different diameter. So, the throttles won't fit any drop bars.
