Barriers
Two weeks away from my first Cross race and I have finally built some barriers to practice with (I have been leaping over the low benches at the local elementary school). I wondered how far apart I should place them to simulate most races I have built three. Should there be room for some running between them, or just a shirt stride before another barrier?
Thanks for any info.

In all the years that I have been racing, the barricades have been no closer than 10' and have been setup in pairs at the very least.

you should be able to take at least two steps(running at speed) between each barrier, but placement varies by course. Hell, we had a course in Colorado that had SIX barriers, and they were unevenly spaced. That was a load of fun.
