Planet X Uncle John frame with Kaffenback fork?
Anyone done this yet? Planet X Uncle John frame with Kaffenback fork?
I ask because I was going to purchase an Uncle John today and found out the matching front fork isn't disc compatible. The Kaffenback's is and I want discs as I am going to use this bike a lot in the snow and ice. I know it isn't ideal to race on, but right now it is just for training and commuting. Thoughts?

Only issue would be tire size. Kaffenback takes a 32mm while the uncle john can fit a 38.

Is the spacing of the Uncle John frame 130 or 135? It's not listed in the specs.
If this is the 2012 version hopefully it's 135, but you should definitely ask the company.
Also, there have been some compatibility issues with On-One frames and Avid BB7s. Planet X is their sister company. Do some research and ask questions if that's what you're planning to run.
If for some reason the Uncle John is 130 spaced why not get the Kaffenback frame? It will be a little heavier, but it's 135 spaced which will give you a MUCH greater range of hubs and wheels to choose from.

Ah, well in that case potentially a good combo.
As long as the rake and axle-to-crown of the two forks are in the same ballpark it seems like it would be ok. The new Uncle John uses an integrated headset, but I think any mismatch between frame and fork in that area would just be cosmetic.
I would just ask the Planet X folks for their opinion. They sell direct and these seem like pretty standard pre-sale questions.
