I entered the 50th cyclocross race of my "career" last night (and my 15th at Alpenrose Dairy). It feels like a major accomplishment. I know a lot of people have done more races, but I think it is entirely possible that I have finished behind more riders than anyone on the planet. I just went through my results and calculated that in 50 races I have finished behind 3204 racers, not counting my 4 DNFs. I do, however, have 6 top 20 finishes, three of which were top 10 (yes, some of the races in Oregon do have small turn outs).

In other news, 550 racers turned out for the race last night -- 550 racers on a Wednesday night! Is that crazy or what?

Congratulations! That is a big accomplishment if you ask me. You got tons of good experience and had a great time. I'm a lower Cat 4 racer and finished behind my share of riders too - believe me, but I still love riding and racing. I think if it was not for that - I'd be an overweight, unhappy middle-ager like a lot of folks I work with.

How long did it take you? Congrads, it's a milestone. I race masters first and then the Cat 1/2 race. My goal in the Cat1/2 race is to at least beat someone! Most of the times I am last or very close to it

This is my fifth year. I only did 4 races the first year, but since then I've been going crazy.
