Oscar, Im so sorry to hear.
I'm guessing I wont be meeting up with you for saturday's donut run I'll try and spin a bit just for you. |
Edit: Well internet fixed, guess I won't be coming either. Next time!
|
Oscar that is terrible news, I'm sorry for your loss.
I don't think I'll be able to make it out tomorrow. I've got a ton of work I have to get done for sunday evening so I've got to spend the rest of tonight and tomorrow morning doing it. Then I have to start on another essay. Have fun, wish I was there! |
Hey oscar, how was your ride? Im sorry that I missed you at the bakery, but I hope your ride was good. I was the in the first group to turn off, and we made it to the bakery first... it was fast too (we were going 50kmh on the flat!)
|
Hey guys what's your take on this description of the donut ride.
"The Donut Ride is an unorganized, uninsured, somewhat lawless group training ride that leaves from the corner of Laird and Eglinton at 9:00 a.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Has a large following and can attract as many as 70 riders on occasion, including some high level local racers. No helmet required, but a thick skin certainly is. Not for the faint of heart. First 30km is not all that fast, but things speed up north of Maple. The group will split at some point so that some can do a longer route." |
If you have to ask don't bother showing up.
|
Yeah everybody rides superfast, but some groups are more superfast than others. And then you have to ride back home!

hmmmm... I think were I to tag along in this ride I would need to throw on a bigger chainring. As it is I would have tp be spinning at a steady 142rpm to get up to 50km/hwhich is a little ball numbing if you ask me. with a 48 ring I'd need to push 124rpm and with a 52 I'd need to push 114rpm. God help me if I needed to climb a hill at 52x15... I've actually been thinking of starting to train so that I can race my fixed gear in a TT in the spring. Heres the link if any of you want to do it as well: http://www.cyclecanada.com/tdctt.htm Just for kicks |
I hate being late!! I was just comming up to the Bagel when y'all left!!
Mind you, I would have been dropped 20min. at the rate you were riding!! |

Does everyone ride superfast or do they break into groups with varying speeds? |

You going to be around tomorrow Shiznaz? I went back to that thrift/pawn shop, they had a practically new norco for $150 (AL wheels, suntour components) and a Trek 2300 (carbon/AL) for $600. The trek looks very very used/banged up. If you have a free time let me know if the norco would be a nice buy.
|
I could take a look with you. when will you be downtown?
|
Fuzz lol, had an in-class essay today and wanted time to memorize on the transit, so I didn't bike today. You busy this weekend?
In other news I put my deposit down for that red bianchi frame, i'll have enough money on Tuesday to go pick it up latest. Edit: I think that norco road bike would be great for Kelly. |
send him a pm and let him know about it
|
yo operator, is it only a frame? And what kind?
|
Its a bianchi (missed the model)... red, fairly plane jane, slightly oversized downtube (most likely AL), vertical dropouts (I think)... Its hard to see in that place... Its for the frame, fork, headset,bb and a funky suspension seatpost. remaining parts would be wheels, drivetrain+shifters, brakes+levers, saddle, stem and bars
|
I'm not sure whether to keep my girlie frame right now for commuting and build up my new frame into something worthy of a "racer" or to make my new frame commuter...
|
Rob, once you start riding that Bianchi, you will forget that you have another bike, so don't hesistate in disposing of your bike, that bike has seen better days
Oscar |
i heard my name! whats this norco bike youre talking about? my other piece of garbage is looking better these days, new chain, lubed everything up good.
|
oh yeah, rob, ima plannin on biking down to eaton center tomorrow morn, and if youre going to school in the morn, lemme know, we can ride together, kick some automobile arse.
