The Pennsylvania bike trails welcomes Ebikes
Hello BF. I'd like to start by telling you about my first experience Ebiking in PA. I was very nervous the first time riding my Ebike here because I was afraid that I would not be welcome on the beautiful bike trails but I will say that it is a very Ebike friendly state . I've heard so many horror stories about legalities and restrictions in places all over the world. I was thinking of moving to California a while back but I am staying right here to enjoy my love for riding.
I even bought my first Ebike to look as much like a regular bike possible to avoid conflict. Well maybe on my second buy now and it's very obvious that it is motorized. I have been stopped by the Park Rangers and they just told me that they never seen such a cool bike. I am finally relieved that will be spending a lot of time riding this year "stress free". I will be posting pics and video of my rides.

PA has taken the time to define e-bikes so there are no hassles. Sorry I couldnt find the link with a summary of state laws.
Enjoy your riding.

Bikes: As my watts decline, I’m amping up!
Your one lucky dude! Enjoy it and honor the safety of yourself and others. Ride on...
This reminds me of the 70's here in The OC after school when I'd slap the license plate on my full race alcohol with nitro burning Honda SL 70 and ride out of my garage over to Chapman Avenue, then up over the Chapman hill to Saddleback Motorcycle Park. I'd race the tracks in prep for the weekend, then ride back home; all before my parents got home from work.
Oh to be young again... (The OC still had a few orange groves back then)
I never could catch that pesky pre-teen Jeff Ward. What ever became of him?

Yea, having an E-bike that you can select the "right amount of assist" to be "legal" is great.
There is a small problem, your bike does NOT LOOK like a bicycle... I foresee a future "problem" there... JMO

I was afraid that I would get in trouble on my new Ebike until I started seeing these Emoto style Ebikes popping up everywhere here in PA. There's at least 50 guys riding these in the Philly area alone. I met a guy 3 years ago ehp had his bike inspected at a random check point in the suburbs . He had no problems whatsoever . But again , I have no idea of the Ebike laws outside PA. All I can say is "WOO HAAA"!! I feel so lucky to to live and ride in the greatest Ebike state in the USA

My Ebike is fully programmable via IPhone app . There's no display needed and the app does everything a cycle analyst does only wireless. Once the controller power output is set, a password must be used to make other changes. It is smart to always keep it on "legal mode" set up using a watt meter from hand dealer.
