An ebike for $159
$159 (donor bike and shipping not included).
I’ve always been intrigued by friction drives, and this one looks pretty interesting. Light simple motor, and a small 6AH battery. This could be a simple light, stealthy (if not quiet) solution to give people a boost on their current bike.
They don’t mention range (probably wisely). I’m guessing about 10 miles per charge.
What they don’t tell you is that the price will double when you add in shipping.
I am skeptical if Indiegogo and certainly refuted a lot of the initial Storm/Sondors Indiegogo fat bike claims (which were ridiculous – even though the final product turned out to be pretty good).

The idea has been around longer than Add-E, or Kepler and others at the Sphere. What makes the current friction designs innovative are the developments of miniature brushless out-runner motors and Li batteries.
The Eazy-Bike might provide a nudge to help overcome drag during forward motion, but I doubt it would be much good at all against gravity. The price is curious. If they can manufacture it, cover all their costs and take a little profit for $159 there must be some really cheap stuff under the plastic.

This one is going to be noisy, too. They just haven't allowed the sound in their videos, played music instead. There's nothing dampening the rc motor at that price. Growl at low speed and high pitched whine at high speed. It's just what friction drives do...not noticeable if you ride in auto traffic.
