Especially if you're older, you should try these bikes at a bikestore before you buy anything. They should be able to get know your expectations, limits and preferences.

Besides the choice of the right model for you, bosch as drive system is always a good choice.
It alsow allows to find a lot of replacemnt/spare parts like Bosch PowerPack batteries, chargers, Displays etc.
Bosch components are designed in germany and made in europe.

From all the bikes I have ridden, the Easy Motion is a standout. Disclaimer- I picked this brand to sell and opened a store, so I am very familiar with their product AND the Bosch systems too. I am one of the Bosch drive certified people.
The Diamond wave got a software update from last year and now uses the mountain bike firmware. Makes a BIG difference in the way this bike rides. Easy Motion also has a $200 rebate on bikes bought before then end of the year.
You didnt give your location, but I'm in Akron, OH if you need to check out e-bikes.

really liked the diamond wave but the bike is too big for my wife and only comes in one size, we have narrowed our choices to the gazelle and a bull evo lacuba 8 step thru. thanks for your help. Oh and we live in the Pacific NW.

Bulls is a good company (from germany).
The LACUBA EVO E8 Step-thru only has a Brose motor instead of Bosch, but do have disc brakes in comparision to the first two mentioned models.

If the Diamond Wave is too big, consider the Evo Street or Evo Eco from the Easy Motion line up. They have smaller tires and frames that fit those with shorter inseams very well.
