It's done! 36 volt 5303
Here's my little CCM (Crystalyte clean machine)i just finished putting together.
After working everything out the top speed is 55.6 kmh,but it cruises best at about 35-40 kmh

here's the specs:
200$ CCM city express (walmart) awesome bike for the money
Crystalyte 5303 on 26" front wheel
35 amp 36 volt controller (low voltage cutout removed)
Cycle analyst computer
3x12volt 18ah sla's
Thumb throttle
Chinese e bike trunk
I'm pretty happy with it overall, but it sure is an amp hog! but still better than my pre-built

Yeah, the 5303 only has 3 turns of copper in it, the only faster model Crystalyte has ever done is the 5302. That must suck up a huge amount of power, i'm curious, what range do you get at that speed?

I wondered why I found that sooooo scarey, then I realised that unlike NZ you drive on the right in the USA.

do yourself a favor and do what i did. put the money down for lithium....
the change is insane!
100000x times better.if you ran 20ah+ of lithium, you'll find your range goes up a lot and the decrease in weight will help a lot as well (you could also get 48v packs giving you even more speed!).

Range report:
battery drained from 39 volts to 34.5 volts
32.2 km ridden
voltage cutout was 32 volts
limited to 30 amps
Top speed was 56.7 km/h,average was 37 km/h
I could have gone quite a bit further ( maybe 40-45 km) but it was getting kind of sluggish with the battery cutoff at 32 volts.
Next i'll try 30 volt cutoff, 27 amp limit and fine tuning of the cycleanalyst to set a speed limit at 39 km/h.That should extend my range a bit.
I'm having issues with the bike going beyond a set speed limit and then dropping too far below and sucking up amps to get back to the limit..kind of like bouncing hard off a rev limiter over and over.

And speed isn't an issue,i'd like to lose 10 km/h and extend the range.I'll be putting this motor in a 20" front wheel of a Giant Stiletto in the spring hopefully bringing it closer to it's peak efficiency speed.

is that using the CA to limit speed? you can change the settings on it to dull the amount it will cut throttle by, so that it evens out better.

Yeah with the CA...problem is there's a whack of settings that aren't to easy to figure out..just gonna have to play with it for awhile
