A fast road tire that can handle 50 mph
I own an electric bike. I was wondering if you recommend a racing slick tire or tire that can handle 50 mph. Best one for the value. I don't race. I just use my bike for transportation but I wanted one that could handle at least 35 mph. It'd be nice if it was fast too.

Technically, an electric bike might be considered cheating in this sport. Here's my electric bike:

I need a new tire, one that can handle 140 mph.

yeah at 50mph nearly any road tyre will not be the limitation nor will they spontaneously combust or explode at those speeds.

I'm moving this to the Electric Cycling forum to avoid any further persecution and potential stupidity.

I would recommend a tire that meets all of these criteria: (there are several out there)
-made by a major tire maker, one that people trust
-relatively thick rubber, not as easy for small objects to penetrate
-not a skinny tire. 1.75 inch and up: your tire will cushion and protect your wheel better, and it will roll over small obstacles better
-slick or near slick tread.

I've been able to pull 50+ mph on a regular basis on my bike.
The tires that I recommend are:

You will need to use 24" rims... but these tires will take anything you give them...

Continental tire has a nice squared off slick- 16" tire- great holding on corners! Easily 50 mph, but they were factory; on a German EV. I could not get that model imported to the US. The rounder US compatible is pretty "squirelly" - just a plain mo-ped tire. Not safe handling at 50, but it will do it. If you can get that Continental slick model where you are - go for it!
