I am having trouble installing this plug in. it is necessary in order to download from my garmin 800. It seems that firefox is blocking it. I have the latest version of media player and firefox. ANY IDEAS.

Never mind. I was able to install it with internet explorer since i have both browsers in my computer. I can now access it with firefox as well.

The communicator plugin is going away. neither Firefox nor chrome support that type of plugin anymore (netapi or something along those lines). If you can stomach it, the easiest way to get your ride data up to garmin is to use garmin express (which you can set to auto-sync with strava if you're a strava person). just plug your garmin into your computer, and voila - your ride shows up a couple dozen seconds later.

Yeah, I've been giving Garmin Express a go. That thing never seems to be able to connect to the server, no matter what I do: all I want is an update to my old Garmin Edge 500.
