Sensors for Cycle Tracker Iphone App.

So I just uploaded the Cycle Tracker app to my Iphone today, looks great for my needs, actually seems to have more wiz bang than I require. Anyway, I noticed if I choose to upgrade the App for the annual fee one of the benefits is purchasing sensors. So I did a Google search and came up with Wahoo Fitness Sensors. My questions, are these any good, any other recommendations for alternatives? What I am interested in is a cadence and heart rate monitor band. Thanks.

Yes, they are. If your app just now added the use of sensors, chances are they are using the Wahoo sensor library in order to communicate with them. The Wahoo sensors transmit both Bluetooth and Ant+ simultaneously and were the first Bluetooth sensors on the market. They are paired with your iPhone and read by the cycling app. I use the Wahoo Tickr Heart Rate Monitor and the Wahoo Blue SC speed cadence sensor on my iPhone 5c but I use a different cycling app. In any case, you should have no issues with the Wahoo products. Wahoo provides a free cycling app (Wahoo Fitness app) that will use the sensors but the app leaves a lot to be desired. If you stay with your current cycling app, make sure that you download and install the Wahoo Utility on your phone. You will need to use this utility in order to upgrade the firmware for your sensors. I check for upgrades about once a month to see if there are any available.

There are other Bluetooth sensors from companies like Polar, Cateye and Topeak but since they have only been on the market for a short while, compared to Wahoo, I would go with the Wahoo sensors.
