VR training equipment
Hope this is the right section for this info. Was reading about doing training on a stationary trainer and using a computer, etc. for virtual reality (VR) training, I.E. riding along with someone who's actually not there but on your computer screen, etc. (Kind of like the TdF trainer bike they show where you can watch the screen and be riding someplace).
I have a "Dumb" trainer that I ride in my front room. I have an older Garmin 500 cycling computer for my road bike, but I use my MTB with street tires on my stationary trainer. No cadence set-up on my MTB, so if Garmin was on it while on trainer I would only get heartrate.
My son bought me an iPad mini for Christmas that I thought might be able to be used for a computer screen to look at while riding the trainer. Just curious if there is something out there that would allow me to use the iPad as a VR trainer. Just read about a whole bunch of VR training stuff in one of the cycle mags, but it wasn't clear if I had to have more than what I have to set it up on the stationary trainer so thought I'd ask if what I have will work somehow and what all I would need to get? Don't want to invest $500-$1000 on a VR setup that I won't use that much as I prefer to ride outside, but on rainy or super cold days it would be nice to have something that kept me from getting bored out of my mind in 30 minutes.
Thanks for any advice.

I'm not an iPad user, but try Googling "cycling vr with ipad" it brings up several apps and options. Not sure any would work for you, but might be worth a look.
