My Forerunner 305 won't connect / be recognized by either of my computers
Of late, I've been having issues with my Edge 800 freezing up on me, so I decided to dig out my old Forerunner 305 (which I used to use for cycling before I got the Edge 800) last night so I could use it on my ride this morning. Plugged it in so it would charge overnight and by 6:00am it was fully charged and ready to go. Once it was synced up with the satellites I was on my way. Finished up my ride and brought the 305 into the house so I could sync the data to Connect. Opened up Garmin Express so I could add the device (the 305 had never been used with this laptop), but Express couldn't find the device. I would click on "search" and the little circle would spin and spin for a couple of minutes and then come back to the "help with finding a device" pop-up box. I checked the computer's device manager and it shows the little yellow exclamation point error icon next to the Garmin USB GPS. The driver is up to date, so I'm not sure what the issue could be. It is doing this on both of my computers (both are Windows 8.1 laptops).
I've been fiddling with all of this for over an hour now and I am at my wits end. If anyone else has experienced this problem and found a solution to it, I'd greatly appreciate a point in the right direction.
