Getting back to the safety glasses side of the solution, I find that my local stores do not have a good selection of them with readers. As well, I had to try four or so different models from different manufacturers before finding one that had the lens low enough to stay out of my normal line of sight. But I did find some and plenty since.

Tinted for daytime, and clear for night. There are online shopping sites devoted to safety glasses that have a large choice of brands and models to choose from. For five to ten bucks, I don't care if they fall on the ground and get run over.

Cateye Padrone wireless is great. Nice and big.

I personally use a Cateye Strada Wireless and have for years with no issues.
