PowerPod Lite power meter
I thought others might be interested in this little power meter since it is the cheapest out there, I think. Software changes make it different from the regular Powerpod are Ant+ only, only one profile, no Isaac software, and no PowerStroke. I wanted to start training with power on my main bike with square taper cranks. It paired easily with my Edge 130 and Garmin speed/cadence sensors, and the first time calibration took about 6 minutes. It is upgradeable in the future if I want the the stuff lost in the Lite version. A couple of rides in and I am hooked, especially now that my headwind sections don't show as 90 w on Strava anymore. https://velocomp-llc.myshopify.com/p...te-power-meter

people have been generally dissatisfied with air pressure based power measurements, but I'm sure it's infinitely better than Strava's estimates. Comparing Strava estimates with my powertap, they underestimate even with a tailwind.

I saw the announcement earlier this summer, and I was curious about the 10 (?) minute recording limit. Does your Garmin record the power for you on a longer ride? That would let you play with the shorter interval for left/right power balance using the Velocomp software, and the Garmin for any other analysis you need to do (I think).

A little update on this power meter. Loving it so far. A couple of things I have found. They released an update in July that makes it accurate on rough surfaces, like gravel and trails. It can measure rolling resistance. Another is I ordered the Lite, which is supposed to have only one bike profile and no PowerStroke with limited Isaac software, and the Isaac software I finally downloaded tells me I have it all. Yippee, free upgrade! It also has CdA analysis for all those TT and Tri people out there, and cheaper than the AeroPod. PowerStroke is pretty cool. It basically told me I pedal squares yesterday, lost 3 watts to it, and rocked the bike a side to side a bit while pedaling.
