Seriously, fiddle with it as much as you desire , but calibrate your actual performance by another measure before seeking professional help.

I am getting deep into sensors, and learning about the struggle to get them to be consistent, connected , accurate and precise..

Yup, I had this problem all the time when I used the Garmin. Just like the OP, it happened a few minutes into the ride and then went away. Like others have said, it was worse when the jersey moved around or when the weather was cool so that I wasn't immediately sweating.

I gave up and went to a WAHOO TICKR. Never had the problem since.
