Garmin 1030 PLUS User Feedback
Today I took the plunge by purchasing a Garmin 1030 plus bundle. I was having issues with my Wahoo Elemnt Bolt (mostly sensors that kept dying, but also severe elevation inaccuracy on the head unit), so I had been looking at alternatives. When I saw the sale price at BTD this morning ($538.99) I decided to go for it. Yes, it's a very expensive unit, but at ~23% off it seemed "reasonable".
In anticipation of getting up and running with the new 1030 plus I've read many reviews and have also watched many videos, so I'm generally aware of the features. However, I'm curious to get feedback from current 1030 plus users. Does it live up to expectations? What do you really like about the unit? Is there anything you don't like? Any setup/configuration recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

I started biking in march with my garming fenix 5 watch that I bought for hiking. It worked great for all my sensors. power, cadence, heart. It did not work great for gps/maps when at speed plus I got tired of looking at my little watch with for sensors showing at a time. I tried using my iphone. The route planning just did not work that well and it killed the battery. Did not pair my assimo power pedals.
I bought a 1030 plus. Life was good. I could see everything on the much larger screen ( coming from a fenix 5 watch ). strava routes worked so well with the 1030 plus. and of course all my sensors worked seem less.
Worth every penny for me. Lot's of people that I ride with ( hikers ) this thing would be a waste of money. The free strava all is all they need. They let me do all the routes and planning and they just show up. Turn on there strava app on their phone and they are good to go.
