Cameras do have their uses, but a loud alarm will cause the thief to depart quicker.
If the bikes are locked to the shed, taking the time to cut locks becomes less likely.

Add "trail camera" to your searches.

fwiw
these cameras have built in alarms, but I think the user has to initiate the alarm. we can also talk to whoever we see, at least w/ the outdoor cameras. same w/ the indoor camera alarm

another feature/benefit, is the cameras can hear & recognize smoke/fire alarms. at which point the user can decide to call 911

Not really. Those "crimes" are about all that has happened over the 10 years I've been here.
I used to live about 30 miles south of rumrunn6. There, we had two house break-ins, cars vandalized in our driveway overnight, a family member was mugged, along with the small annoying petty things. I'll take this area any day.

I don't want to jinx myself, but we never have crime here, unless you count bears. Lots of destroyed bird feeders. Every bird feeder, to be exact. And my wife just put up a bird feeder.

Every time I look for a trail camera, they are too expensive. And I'm pretty sure I just want a simple low-light wifi camera

gonna see a bunny get caught by an owl one of these nights. I've got 1 clip of an owl flying to a perch right above our back garden, then another clip of the owl taking off into the forest. plenty of clips of bunnies & coyotes. all at different times

We have an Arlo floodlight camera which has worked very well for a couple of years. I use it to monitor our rabbits in the back garden and it successfully scared a fox away the other night. It has a flashing bright floodlight and siren. The Ai movement detection is pretty reliable and can distinguish between animals, humans and random movement eg leaves blowing around.

I’ve just ordered some more Arlo cameras and doorbell in their end of year sale to make a more complete system. 30% discount at the moment in their UK store.

along with a monitored smoke & burglar alarm system, i get e discount on my renter's insurance premium,

better than that, the landlord pays the alarm bill & monitors the cameras (9 on the premises)

motorcycle weight cables & keylocks through the bikes' frames for extra wow.

Wyze cams have been affordable and rock solid for us.
Agree that it’s most important to make it hard to break into the place.
We leave one vehicle outside the garage, but I have to remember to lock it, otherwise the thieves can open the garage door from the vehicle.

Around five years ago I went with a basic system from Eufy. They don't sell that exact model anymore, but this one is pretty much the same.

Not the best quality image, especially at night but some of their more expensive cameras would be better if that was important.
