Price is $500 to $600 depending on solar and tactical features. The main difference is obviously the look, the new watch has physical analogue hands and no inset second display. Also important, the new Instinct uses the excellent Airoha GPS receiver instead of the old Sony one.

Not getting the point. You can do alternative digital faces with analog hands as easily.

(Mine is the Venu 2, but I think this works on any of them. The photo doesn't do it justice.)

I got my wife the Withings Scanwatch, which is a 'smart' watch with analogue hands. It is terrible. It can't even keep time correctly. It records brushing your teeth or washing your hands as swimming.
I suspect the Garmin one at least does what it is supposed to do, and solar for an extra $50 is great!

You're right about analogue hands being made of pixels, I do that too. When I want them. They stop existing when I stop wanting them, kind of the best of both worlds.
