Why blue ?
Yesterday I was trying to follow a somewhat complex waterfront trail with numerous branch-offs and construction detours. On the Explore 2, Garmin has made the triangle designating my location blue, the same blue as water. There is no way to change this on the Explore 2.

I'll reiterate: this is a weak trolling attempt, even by Mikey D standards.

When riding lakeside trails, around ponds, bays, branch off's, it is impossible to just glance down and locate the triangle in all the blue. All they needed to do was make it orange or have the ability to change the colour, and it would stand out in a sea of blue.
There's no tail at all or colour change option on the Explore 2. It blends when near water.

This Triangle shaped lake is following me. It is right on top of me, thankfully I have my Snorkel SL from Trek.
Here are the color codes I got:
08b1e4 is the Triangle
0197ee is the water
0072ee is the ride button
017fed is the button with 3 lines
Slightly Similar blues and sure maybe just maybe they could have used a different color but having moved the triangle directly above the water it is a different blue enough to notice but I also know when I am on land and when my bike is on water:

The blue moving along lakeside trails or alongside any body of water is difficult to pick up quickly with a glance, as it blends.
A simple solution would be to allow a colour change of the triangle. An orange triangle would be easily discernible.

It will. The real problem is that the blue triangle blends with the water when riding waterfront trails.
An orange or changeable color triagle would remedy this. Apparently the higher end models have this feature.

It is a different shade of blue as shown in my Photoshopped image. Distinct enough to notice it but I won't disagree they could have potentially done a different color.

Doesn’t that make it hard to beat the guy in front of you who isn’t aware it’s a race.

I am somewhat disgruntled at how difficult it can be to use garmin maps. Then I tried changing the colors and found out it doesn't make it any better. Shape might be a better way of making things visible.

color would help for lakefront trails as seen above. Apparently this is a “high end” feature found on other models.
Have had a few issues with the Explore 2. I will be purchasing a Wahoo next time.
Defend it all you want. This display scheme is just dumb. And yea, I’ve played with all the settings including Map Detail.

This is terrible from Garmin. If the triangle doesn't match the bar tape and saddle then I'm not going to be seen in public with it.
