+1. I just placed an order for the headlamp, seeing as the one I already had was stolen along with my father's bike, which I was using as a backup while my bike was out of service for repairs. I also didn't receive the tailight mount when I bought the taillight a few weeks ago, so this was a great opportunity to ask for that and kill two birds with one stone.

Do the batteries go in the lamp or outside the lamp?

is this light worth spending 100 bucks on? is it bright enough that i'd be able to only use one and be able to see where i'm going in complete darkness? is it gonna shoot out in one specific spot without that much flood? or will there be enough flood to see around me? and does anyone have any action shots of it?

(Keep in mind that I only have the 120L)
is this light worth spending 100 bucks on?
Yes, worth $100.
is it bright enough that i'd be able to only use one and be able to see where i'm going in complete darkness?
Depends on other conditions and riding terrain. If road, yes - but you may outrun it at higher speeds. Singletrack - not without a supplemental helment spot.
is it gonna shoot out in one specific spot without that much flood?
The lens is more of a flood versus a spot beam.

I realize it's only $100 bucks, but it doesn't come with everything. No batteries, charger or helmet mount. Is it really on sale then? Nashbar has them here with 20% off going on now. Which is the better deal then?
Besides, whether this is a good sale or not depends on:
- Do you have extra rechargeable batteries lying around or would you need to buy more? (approx $10 for a 4-pack)
-Do you have a charger available? A charger similar to the one that comes with it cost about $20 if bought separately
- Do you plan to mount it on your handlebar only? A helmet mount will set you back $14 at the Dinotte website
So if your answer is yes to two or more questions, i'd say it is a good sale. Otherwise, not so much

The front light is ~$150-$170 USD (from what I've seen around the web before. The tailight is ~$125-$140 so you are having considerable savings plus if you're states side you only pay like $3 s/h per light I think where as we north of the 49th parallel pay more.
200lumens is bright. I can't think of what to compare that too if you've not seen high powered LED lights before. If you have a 3W maglite factory retrofit upgrade light I think that's around 130lms. I could be wrong. I have Seoul SSC P4 LED's here for my own DIY lighting so I know what near 200lm is and it hits you in the face bright.
I think Dinotte has broke even on thier front/tail lights and started dropping the price to get more buyers.

I don't like the Dinotte helmet mount. I'd suggest buying a Twofish LockBlock as a helmet mount if you're looking to mount the light on your helmet.
The tail light is well worth the $100. Hands down the brightest thing out there.

Just ordered the 200L headlight and a helmet mount. I think $118 shipped is a good deal. I noticed they also have the full headlight package (charger, batteries, helmet mount) for $160 thru Friday. (next week?) The units Nashbar and Performance have on sale appear to be an older model. I have a bunch of NiMH AA's and a charger, so that part is all set.
Did anyone else notice what I'm assuming is a joke on their checkout page that sales tax is only charged on deliveries to NH?

yogi13: True, however when I lived up there (20 years ago!), NH didn't have a sales tax (and it was political suicide to propose one and made for interesting official theater with Massachusetts every so often). Looks like they still don't have one: New Hampshire does not have a general sales tax or an income tax on an individual's reported W-2 wages. (https://www.nh.gov/revenue/gti-rev.htm) Hence my assumption they were being ironic. (No charge for sales tax unless shipping to a state that doesn't charge sales tax.)
Back on topic - in a few days, I'll be able to compare it with the 10w Planet Bike unit I use now.

This is great timing because I was all ready to pay full price on the tail light. I'm glad I read this post. My only concern is even with the new tail light mount, that my leg will still rub against the mount. Do you think Dinotte will still honor a 30 day return policy on this sale item?

I got my 120L version from Nashbar today, and jeezus, it rocks.
However... I'm going to ask Nashbar if I could return it. If the 120 is this good, I want the 200 since it's even brighter with slightly better battery life.
Even if Nashbar won't take it back, I'll either keep it or find someone else who wants it.
