The Dinotte is cool, but it's overkill.
I saw a bright red flashing light at night and hustled to see what it was. It was a cheapo blinkie. The burst from the PBSF is enough for daytime riding and doesn't require constant recharging.

Bikes: Some bikes. Hell, they're all the same, ain't they?
Depends on the battery, whether it's NiMH AA cells or the custom Li-ion pack.
I try to always have a fully charged pack ready to go. But, I use my Dinottes a lot less now that I have a bike with a dynohub, so it's easy for me to neglect regular battery charging.

Well, say that you ride a total of an hour a day, going to work and back 30 minutes each way. With a Dinotte 200 on High steady mode, you can get by with charging every two days with AAs, four days with the 2-cell Li-ion pack, or once a week with the 4-cell pack.

I'm thinking of upgrading to Li-ion so that I don't have to charge so often anymore.

No it is not. Possibly it is in certain situations at night but certainly not during the day. The SF is nice but....if it's a choice between safe and really safe, in this case I'll go with really safe.
