Smallest battery LED headlights?

i'm trying to cannibalize an LED headlight to retrofit into this vintage headlight housing:

the problem i'm running into is that the teardrop shape of the housing can't accomodate anything larger than a single AA battery in a battery socket without interfering with the lens portion of the lamp.

so i'm trying to find a small yet bright LED system that works on either a single AA, double AAA, triple or quadruple "N" type, or single 9V battery. anything out there that fits this bill?

The Cateye Uno works off a single AA. The likes of Knog Frogs are even smaller, running on watch batteries.

There are plenty of inexpensive AA and AAA flashlights that you might be able to use.

The Knog Frog and Beetle models use those flat disc batteries, CR-somethingerothers.

Would an 18650 battery fit in there?

It's like a AA battery on steroids.

That's going to be a fine looking headlamp.

Get a single XP-G on a star with a Ledil Regina reflector. Run it off 2x RCR123a cells.

CR123? https://www.fenixlight.com/viewproduct.asp?id=110

If you're really going to just use the guts of a flashlight, think about how you would replace the batteries. So the first thing you might want to look for is a 1x or 2x plastic battery holder that fits inside the casing.
