Has anyone tried this? I note that it looks pretty solid from the photos and fits a wide range of flashlight body sizes per the description, 18mm to 28mm diameters. That should cover most AA, CR123 and 18650 battery flashlights all the way up to the two 18650 battery size ones.

what kind of light are you using with it? Most people reviews are luke warm to poor with the older fenix mount. Are you using an 18650 or AA flashlight? I have not seen anyone really reviewing the new mount yet, I would be interested in some info on this too..

I have a few mounts I have tried over the last few weeks trying to get something robust enough for my 2 cell 18650 light, so far the mount from SB has worked the best, "THANKS COLLEEN"

Thinking of trying it with my new Olight M31 which is on the way, running with the extension tube and dual 18650 batteries. 800 claimed lumens in high mode and 320 lumens in medium. I figure it will need a pretty substantial mount.

I almost bought that Fenix mount but the 2 reviews at 4Seven was not favorable. One of the review stated that mount was pretty large. The one thing I did like about it was the left/right adjustment feature. If that is what you are after, I think you might do better mounting a Minoura Besso mount on your handle bar pointing up then use the Shiningbeam mount over that. This will give you tilt plus horizontal adjustment.

The Fenix mount arrived. As noted it is large but it seems to be strong and well made. The biggest change from the older version so far as I can tell is that the new one will fit 31.8mm handlebars. Not installed yet.

Thanks for the info, most people selling do not even know what 31.8 bars are.. Willing to give one shot.. where did you buy yours?

I'm still confused. Does anybody ever just check to see how well a simple inner-tube scrap will work as a rubber/o-ring?

Simply put a piece of rubber around the flashlight body, and then use O-rings made out inner tubes.

Its superior to these other mounts, its adjustable on the fly, and it costs next to nothing. (use a second band as necessary for security or firmer setting.

Aw, never mind, better to buy than build.

what size light are you using with this method.. I am fine with lockblocks for most of my lights, but have 1 big light that needs something a little more sturdy.. It is 2 cell 18650 light using 5 - alpha 8 leds in the head..

Agreed! I will be trying it with a Olight M31 set up with two 18650 batteries. The light is long and relatively heavy plus expensive enough so I do not want to risk it coming off while riding. The length and weight are such that I supect too that the O ring method would allow the light to shift vertically in aiming position too easily, maybe even just from vibration if not perfectly clamped at the center of balance of the light.

I am using this mount right now and it works fine w 2 - cell light.. I am in the same, I do not want to chance my light flying off a 20mph.. I did get the lockblocks to work but the light shifted while riding and it bounced quite a bit, which was less than ideal..

Your Olight has the same raised area just above the main body, this is similar to mine and this is where I put the clamp using this mount and it made it so it would not budge.. The bolt pinches right on that area.. If I mount it on the main body I would need to add some rubber to make a more secure connection.

I bought the fenix mount from a ebay seller - 15.00 shipped.. Should be here tomorrow and we'll see which one works better

I used this fenix mount and didn't like it. Because it could rotate it would bounce a little and I found it distracting. The light you mentioned looks similar although higher quality.

That was the original fenix mount which was generally disliked..
