I'm looking for a computer that has all the usual stuff but includes cadence. What should I be looking for. What if I also wanted a HR monitor?

With cadence, the cheapest option I think is the Sigma 1606L or one of its cousins. < $30. I don't have any experience with HR monitors.

Sigma 1609 STS with Cadence. It's more than $30. more like $65-99. I''ve got one as well as a second bike sensor kit for my other bike.

As for HR. I use a Garmin 305 forerunner which is HR + GPS but I use it for x-country skiing and jogging as well. I'm not sure what the successor model is to the 305 but I got mine on sale for $170 CDN.

The Sigma 1609 is wireless, so that's extra expense and possibility of failure for no reason. The 1606 is about $27 and meets the need.

I just recently got a Sigma 1909 wireless off of Ebay for about $90 with shipping. It has digitally coded wireless speed, cadence, and heart rate and comes with the chest strap. It also has temperature which is a bonus. The wireless speed sensor also works at the rear wheel for use on a trainer. Love it so far.

What do you mean by cheap and with an HR? If you want versatility and a good deal go with a Garmin FR305 and a GSC 10. then you got it all and Amazon has some good deals. Google DC Rainmaker and checkout the reveiw and the Amazon links.

Did not want to start a new thread for the equation exactly matches the one asked here. Just most of the models mentioned are no longer available. i can get a cheapo 2-in-1 version of wireless cadence from china for less then $15 but what's is the cheap but reliable version of a computer + cadence? should I go for wired or wireless?

Brands aside, Generally, its the 1st thing added in the Price Bump of a second sensor input.

What i did was get a decent smartphone holder and a wahoo cadence sensor. I am very happy with this set up and it suits my needs perfectly fine.

I have two indoor cycles (aka "spin bikes") in my home gym, each with a different wired computer to track cadence. One is running a Sigma 16.12 which was about $28 from Amazon's Warehouse Deals section and the other has a Cateye Strada Cadence that I picked up off Ebay (used) for about $12 plus another ~$20 for a new wiring harness and mount.

The Sigma has more functions and was slightly cheaper but the Strada is much easier to setup and use, and Cateye replacement parts are much easier to find. If I had to buy another right now, it would be another Strada Cadence.
