Bell F20 cyclocomputer problem

I got a cheap computer for my bike, to tide me over until I finally decide to stop being a tightwad and get a smartphone. It's a Bell F20. It actually works great, and its mileage readings match up with googlemaps' almost perfectly. My issue is the "Trip Distance" setting. I've followed the instructions, which say to get into the "DST" mode, and press both buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to reset it to zero. It does that...but it also resets everything else! I have to go back and reenter all of the specs before each ride, and that makes the odometer setting pretty useless. Does anyone have one of these, and can help me out with what I'm doing wrong?

Well, I have the Model 15 Bell Wireless. I believe what you're doing wrong is pressing both buttons to reset DST... you need to only press the Set button for two seconds. Pressing two buttons resets everything, as you discovered.

The setup procedure on these things is awkward. For instance, on mine, the buttons aren’t labeled, and the user's guide doesn't tell you which is which, so I had to spend an hour trying to figure it out.

Thanks! I'll have to try that out tomorrow. I think what I need to do is bring it in one night and fiddle with it for awhile...but I'm planning on getting a smartphone tomorrow, so maybe I'll just use that, ha ha.

It's the button on the left side to reset trip. The right side button cycles through the displays. Both at once resets everything, as you discovered.
