Portable Radios for Bikes?

I'd love to listen to radio during my commute but don't want to wear ear plugs. Are there portable radios for bikes or has anyone jimmied a radio to their bike?

Bikes: See my sig.

It's a little ghetto, but maybe a front rack, with a boombox bungied to it?

On a more serious (or practical) note, perhaps just a front basket with a small portable radio?

I have a $10 Panasonic transistor radio in a cellphone patch pocket attached to my backpack strap. I cut a couple small holes in the pocket to allow access to the volume and tuning controls. Been riding with this setup for years.

Not stereo, but works fantastically well. And because the radio is a few inches from my head I don't need to turn it up very loud, so it rarely draws attention from others. Also means that a pair of AA batteries lasts for many hours of riding.

at risk of showing my age, radio shack used to have an am radio that mounted on the handlebars, speaker facing rider.
probably meant for a kid's bike, not really built to absorb shocks and no quick release.

at the top of this site is an ad for various things by the same marketer, one of which is a mounted radio. no idea whether external speakers.

There's a guy I see on my ride who has a small transistor (at least that's what it looks like) taped to his handlebars facing him. There also used to be a radio that was designed to be mounted to the handlebars of a bicycle. The LBS that I go to has one on their shop bike.

I use this and an ipod https://www.thinkbiologic.com/product...tunes-speakers

It works pretty good but on bumpy roads you may have to stuff a small rag in it to keep the battery compartment from popping open.

I use these speakers w/ my iphone: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004QQ3SZI
Runs off bluetooth, doubles as speakerphone for phone. Comes with a LED light that's actually about as bright as the cheaper Planet Bike lights I've owned -- comes very handy when you're in a pinch.

Check your cellphone if it has FM radio.
I still have to plug a headset on mine,
this acts as the antenna. But I can put
the phone on speaker and put it in my
shirt pocket.

I have had luck with these in the past. (they are getting hard to find as almost no one has them anymore)

Simply mod them to use AA batteries and you can get over 20 hours of use out of them. They also sound great for their size.

Bikes: carbon bike

that sounds good, but i think if you don't want to use the ear plugs, maybe you can use a small transistor attach on your coat.i think it also can available for you when you are riding.

Hmm, you should look at something small like this https://https://www.x-mini.com/. Really small and all you have to do is plug it into your mp3/cellphone. You have to charge via USB through the computer but because it uses it's own battery, you don't have to use that much battery from your phone or mp3.

Another one is this https://www.alteclansing.com/ae/us/ipod-iphone-speakers/orbit-mp3-im227/invt/im227/&bklist=icat,3,shop,ipodiphonespeakers.

I've never tried any but my uncle has the x mini mono and it's small but sounds detailed and is powerful.
