I don't use an extender but I have piggybacked devices on eachother. The handlebar camera mounts quite nicely on top of the dual beam headlight, etc...

If you have a long steerer tube you could do like this...2 stems, 2 handlebars on this Surly LHT

BDop cycling has a aux. mount that is 10" long. It's a version of their Dashboard Genie.

You can see my extension bar here. I used clamps from Cinelli Spinacci/Nashbar Aero bars that can be had nearly for free.

There weren't alloy when I bought them, it's aluminum. Unless they changed them.

Guilty as charged! I also run fat tires and fenders. But on the other hand - I only weigh 155lbs myself so the total package is still well under 200bs.

I use a Minora mount under the stem so I am able to use a handle bar bag when I need it. Works good for me.

Think about how heavy that would be if I hadn't bought that light bike but a heavy one and still added all that stuff.

This looks perfect for my uses. Minoura SWG-400 ($18.99). I've been looking into extenders because I have a Ortlieb handlebar bag which blocks the handlebar light and this will rise above that. I think this will hold the Dinotte 1200L+ and a Garmin 800 nicely.

How many of you add extra weight, such as electronics and gadgets and bar-brackets, but you refuse to have a bell on your bike due to the extra weight?
