Light Strip!!

Lately I have been using these "light strips" on each of my legs.. Gives a moving blinking light to my rear, and they are cheap too. $5 each.. Also, sometimes I clip a rear ligiht to on of my legs..

Now, I see them for 2 for $7..

This morning at 6 am, in the dark, my light setup on my 89 Centurion Ironman

(2)18650 Flashlights up front, on cheap U mounts, which hold the lights rock steady.

(1)Planet Bike Super Flash Turbo on the rear.

(1)Clone of the superflash on the helmet

(2)Velcro Light strips on each leg.. They provide a moving blinking light in the rear..

It was real funny when I ran up against some ninjas commuting this morning too.

Ninja=No lights!!

Except for the price and output, I think you'd get a kick out of the Fibre Flare stuff. One of their product videos had, amond other things, a girl jumping rope with lights on her lower legs.

This morning on another bike, I put a little more into my rear action.. On the rear of this bike, I am running Planet Bike SuperFlash Turbo. On my helmet and each one of my legs, clipped onto the velcro lighted and blinking strips, I am running two SuperFlash Clones..
That is 3 on the rear, along with the lighted velcro strip, making that 5 blinking and moving lights at the rear. Up front, I am pushing two 18650 lights.. No helmet light today.. The light strips are awesome! Found on Ebay, two for $6 with free shipping. I ordered two more for my arms..

I low-rented a similar solution by taking scissors to a $6.99 safety reflective vest, cutting out the reflecto tape into strips about a foot long then using velcro to strap to my calves. Result: a 2 inch by (more than) a foot reflecto strip running down the back of each calf, held in place at the top and bottom by velcro. Huge amount of reflecto surface area and of course there's motion also.

Had my wife follow in our old minivan with crappy headlights, she said they make me quite visible even at long distances.

The movement of lights in the rear do a lot making the bicyclist more visible. That it what it all about. The strips I have are also, of the reflective nature, with a small battery, I am getting blinky and something mount two Superflash Clones to.. Anything that adds to our rearward and forward visibility is good for us..

I think they are 2032, looks like a nickel. I got 5 of them at the dollar store for 2 bucks. That link in my first posts, the seller will take $6 for 2 with free shipping.. IMO, real cheap safety add ons..
