Garmin GSC 10, Cyclemeter and iPhone 4S

I've been using the Cyclemeter app on my iPhone 4S with iOS 5 for a couple of weeks and decided to augment its accuracy with a Garmin GSC 10 speed & cadence sensor. I fitted the Garmin this morning but can't get it to pair with my iPhone. I've turned on Bluetooth and the red and green lights come on as they should when the pedal and spoke magnets pass. I've tried removing the Garmin's battery and replacing it after 30 seconds and switching the iPhone off and on again.

Should this work or do I need to add some other app or device? I've been searching on the net for a couple of hours throughout the day but just can't find an answer.

Thanks!

I didn't know that the GSC 10 did bluetooth.

Thanks, BykOfALesserGod.

Well, perhaps it doesn't and that is the problem. I bought it as it's on the Abvio list of Cyclemeter-compatible sensors and as it was listed there assumed it would work.

If the lack of Bluetooth is the problem, how can I get it to feed to the iPhone?

Looks like you'll need to Wahoo Fitness ANT+ key for iPhone.

So, you are saying that if I get one of those, it will enable me to use the Garmin GSC 10 with the Cyclemeter app on my iPhone?

Yeah I thought something was amiss. You need that Wahoo widget to make the GSC10 and the iPhone "talk".

Neat device. A shame the iPhone 5 went to that tiny "Lightning" connector instead of the 30-pin.

Edited to add: I just found their page about the coming RFLKT. Now if that were to include ANT+ ability, that could solve the problem.

Try this product. https://4iiii.com/2012/product-viiiiva/

This will allow you to use the GSC10 and your iPhone using any IOS fitness app. In addition, you'll get an HR strap. Looks like it's going for $69 US.

That's exactly what it does so you don't have to change out your components to Bluetooth only. Pretty cool actually.

Thank you all VERY much! It's all crystal clear.

I'll probably get one of those Wahoo devices but that 4iiii Viiiiva device looks very interesting. I don't want to wear a heart rate monitor, though. If they made a device you could just have in your pocket it would be good. I guess that'll come...

Thanks again everyone!
