Durability of Garmin 500 during mountain biking

Just got a Garmin 500 Edge for cycling training. Been using it while it strapped to my stem of my road bike.

Now i have also have a Mt bike and will be doing a few races and a few 100 mile mt bike events as well.

Would it be still in good shape to be strapped to my stem of my bike while bashing on trails for hours on end. would i have any problems?

What if i get the device Muddy? would that cause it to not work properly later on?

thanks

No issues with it mounted on the stem. Rinse under running water to remove mud.

No issues with mine strapped to stem either. I know alot of others who mount them this way as well. Main thing is to keep an eye on the bands.
