Problems with Garmin Chest Strap of HRM

I got this Garmin HRM chest strap thats not working. I put in different batteries and still no signal.

What other methods can i try to get chest strap of HRM to work?

What other reasons may a strap not work? thanks

Did you moisten the contact? Are you wearing it in the right place? Is it oriented correctly, not inside out?

Is it new and under warranty? Did you buy it in a local shop? If either of these, work with the vendor.

Everyone has had trouble with the newer "Premium Strap" including me. Most have had to replace the strap. I went back to my older all-plastic type of strap and it continues to work perfectly. There have been previous threads about the problem.

I've been through many of these types of straps in the past few years. The older plastic Garmin strap worked the longest of any of them. But the longest any have worked is about 6 months and that's with changing batteries and using gel. So I have preordered a Life Beam helmet. A little pricy but with my heart condition it will be worth it……… if it works that is.

Same problem. I wash just the contacts after every ride. Garmin knows about the problem and they finally came out with a new strap.

Have you setup the device to pair with it? If you haven't, wet the pads on the strap, put it on, then force a pairing with your unit. Also, depending on the Garmin unit, you may need to set up a field to display HR, etc...

I plan on it when it arrives. They are due to release this month. I bought it on a preproduction special.
