HELP Garmin 705

Hi, my 705 is all screwed up , I did a reboot last night because when I wanted to hi light a saved route it said track memory full then I deleted everything and still no goos so I did the reboot, fixed that .
then I went out today for a ride and near the end of my ride I seen a bunch of data on the sreen like I have never did before. I shut it off and restarted it and reset and started a new ride.
All is fine till I try to plug into my mac and it doesn't cocnnect , it starts up but won't connect to mac , I then search around the web and try a few tricks like hold the power button and then it forces the connection and I see two files BUT still it shows no files in history BUT they do show on the unit . So I can't upload my rides, I do a little more deleting and now I only see one file when I plug it in ( still have to hold power button to force connect..
Fid another reboot and still all messed up ..
Any ideas ??? Im desperate , going on vacation and don't want to have to go out an buy new gps

Go to Garmin and download the latest firmware for the 705 or use the web updater software. This might fix corrupted files on the 705. I had a problem like this on a 305 and this helped to recover. If you can see the Garmin files on your Mac look in the activity folder for ride files. They end with .fit. You can upload these to Garmin Connect if you want to view the ride map and metrics. The new Garmin Connect website wants to use an automatic sync to upload whenever I connect my 510. I use Windows 8.1.

I know it might be too late now but I always copy a ride to backup folder afterwards just in case the Garmin croaks.

power, mode, and enter buttons held down all at the same time
will give you a hard reset.
all your data will be lost, but it should get you back to square one.
it did for me.
