seatpost mod
Hi all,
I'm constantly trying to think of new ideas for my bike (Raleigh Revenio Carbon 1).
I love a clean non cluttered bike and weight savings.
My next trick is to adapt a seatpost to incorporate about 8 to 9 Super bright leds and make them my rear light!
However I'm struggling to find a small flasher unit that will fit inside, any ideas where I can get on from?
This way I always have my rat light on me and no nasty brackets
Wait till I post my Garmin idea......... ;-)

It is a great idea if the post could remain structurally sound.

Lightskin looks like they use a Kalloy Uno seat post .. probably too down market for your refined tastes
LightSKIN LED-Sattelstütze
if you start modifying a CF seat post you may be wise to back fill the inside of tube with a wad of CF fabric and more epoxy..
and leave enough space in the bottom for the battery case. making it more of a solid carbon composite rod.

Hi Guys,
Yes similar to the link posted on youtube.
However, I have a colleague who is an expert on Carbon Fibre and we are currently looking at another route.
We are investigating molding a higher quality set of lights to the set post so it ADDS structual integrity rather than removing it.
He has also said that drilling a number of small holes should not have any effect.
Our next idea is to integrate a cycle computer into the Headset so you never forget it!
Here's a picture of my first Garmin idea.
A Garmin 810 is 500GBP here in the UK.
I've used the following:
Bike holder (stripped down and parts used) - 8 GBP (eBay)
Sony Ericsson Xperia 10 mini (as it runs ANT+) - 20 GBP (eBay)
Install Garmin fit - free
The beauty with this is that it also plays your music (I have a 64Gb SD Card) AND I can take phone calls on my bluetooth headphones.!
