iPhone health app and Mapmyride
Does anyone use the new iPhone health app and link it to Mapmyride? I just upgraded to the new iOS but can't figure out how to get the health app that comes with it to pull in data from the Mapmyride app.
I've gone into settings on Mapmyide and set it up to connect to the phone's motion sensor, but that only seems to pull data from the phone's pedometer into mapmyride.
It's not a big deal if I can't get it working. I'm just curious about the app.

Not sure if it helps as I don't use map my ride, but when I added strava when the app started I was prompted to allow the health app to have access to the strava data. I said no since I have no real interest in using the health app whatsoever. Are you sure mapmyride has links to the health app? If it doesn't I know strava does.

Not a problem, I was using the "freebie" version of strava if you want to give that a try and see if it works.

I use Strava and the free version pushes data into the iOS Health app. Sometimes there is a lag, however... like a day or two until it caches up.

The map my ride app will work with your I health.
1) tap the three horizontal lined menu icon
2) select settings using the gear icon
3) under Connected Services, use the slider for health app
4) enable the settings you wish map my ride to share with ihealth

Mapmyride connection to Health app flawed
I submitted a support request to Mapmyfitness and this is the response I received. Basically, it does not do what we were lead to believe it does and probably won't any time soon.
Hi Don,
Thanks for writing. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Cycling workouts do sync to Apple Health but they are currently syncing as general workotus rather than specifically as cycling workouts so you will not see them when attempting to view the cycling distance. Please know that I have forwarded this along to the development team and they are investigating the cause. At this time, I'm unsure of how quickly it will be fixed, but we do hope to have the problem taken care of soon. We will to try our best to reach out to you again when a fix for this issue is available. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we troubleshoot the problem.
If you have any additional information that may aid in our investigation, please let me know.
Kindly,
Tim
