Shaped beam with top cut-off is really the way brighter headlights should be, at least if you don't want to blind/aggravate oncoming traffic (and is required in DE and some other EU countries). Both lights look like really good designs technically, but a bit funky aesthetically, IMO.

Bikes: Co-Motion Cappuccino Tandem,'88 Bob Jackson Touring, Co-Motion Cascadia Touring, Open U.P., Ritchie Titanium Breakaway, Frances Cycles SmallHaul cargo bike. Those are the permanent ones; others wander in and out of the stable occasionally as well.
I have this on my list to buy this year, but have to budget for it as it is so expensive. Seems like a great product and I like the idea of a high beam switch right at my thumb. I just wish the battery was swappable.

spend 8 hours Well paid to be at a computer, then USB rechargeable while you work seems sensible..
A quickly removed item, they would be nicked if left on the bike locked up outside any way..

They've been out since around December. There are reviews on the Candlepower cycling forum. I'm sort of interested in the headlights but I'm waiting until DST ends before I buy a new headlight.

I kind of like the mounting system as long as they have that loose o-ring problem figured out. I particularly like that they have you just put a level on the face to adjust beam angle too. My biggest gripe is the non-replaceable battery. When it does in the middle of the night you have to stop and charge it or switch lights. That is a major drawback. I just want to hot swap fresh batteries...
