Seatpost Shim

My Boris arrived today, they sent me the gx but I don’t care. The frame has an odd seatpost tube size 30.4. I have several 27.2 seatposts in the parts bin. I see that they sell a 100mm shim that would accommodate 27.2 seat posts.
Will this weaken the frame/seatpost?
