Finally back

Well its been a few years but in the last week I have had 6 rides ( all under 11 miles) but at least I am giving it a go. When I stopped I became a care giver for my wife who is now well enough that I can get back to bike. Of course I have all the base miles to do to get the distance up and that will take some time. For those of you who don't know me I was a roadie and did lots of "tours". I am not to sure I will be doing anymore 100 mile+ races again but I sure would like to try. I also have about 25 lbs to lose. It's good to be back on the bike again for sure.

Welcome back and good to read about your wife doing better and your saddle time increasing.

Good to see you back, and to know that your wife is doing well, now.

I had joined 50+ during your hiatius. I looked up some of your past posts and from what I saw, every family would be blessed to have you in it. May the health of your wife continue to improve, and may you begin to once again reap the rewards of what appears to be a very strong passion for cycling and life itself.

Thanks for the welcome back, It feels good to be back in the saddle again. I just feel so old. I hope I can get back to where I was a few years ago but I have a long way to go. My maximum heart rate is much lower now and the hills I used to fly over are much steeper. I guess it doesn't matter much as I am not trying to go pro any time soon. LOL. I just thank God that I can still get out there and ride.
My old Garmin 800 still works and I just posted on Garmin and Strava the rides and that was fun. They changed things around a bit and I had another learning curve to get through.
