Just wanted to say, Hi
New forum member, here. I'm a 64 year old guy from the western suburbs of Chicago. Pretty new to cycling and have been lurking here since August. Finally decided to officially join the fun this morning.
My cycling began as a kid and pretty much ended when I began driving. I'm an avid golfer and have been playing over 50 years. A friend and I had a particularly bad round late last summer and he, a former avid cyclist, said he was going to start riding again. I, as a slightly overweight old guy, thought that sounded like fun and bought a bike the next day. I cannot believe how much fun it was to ride!
While lurking it became apparent that this forum was the place to be. Looking forward to hanging in the treehouse with you.

Glad you finally decided to stop lurking, and joined in here, in the Asylum.
We can most likely help you to stop chasing little round, expensive spheres with an even more expensive stick, around an place that is expensive to get in to
. All that you need is an expensive bicycle
, and a great deal of expensive stuff to go with it.
Actually, we have several avid golfers here in our forum, you should feel right at home here.
Or, you can just take that wonderful machine you got,
and ride it as much as you'd like, and get the good feeling we all experience from our riding.

Howdy, and welcome. Whereabouts are you in the western burbs? There is some great trail riding in the Busse Woods in Schaumburg. I've ridden there a few times when I used to travel through there.

When I first moved to Chicago in 1985, I lived in the city and worked in Elk Grove Village. Back then I was a runner and would train in Busse Woods with a co-worker. We've lived in Naperville since 1991. My return to cycling has pretty much taken place on the paths and roads here.

Welcome Champ. We have fun here. I've also learned a lot here such as, um, um. Give me a couple minutes to recall what I learned. I'll be back - like the Terminator.

Welcome. Back in my wanderlust days when I had abandoned bicycle riding, I decided on a whim to hitchhike to California. I got picked up by a trucker in Columbus Ohio, (where I'm from) and he dropped me by Joiliet, Il. I couldn't get a ride out of there for a couple of days. I later found out there was a mental institution nearby and that probably had something do with it. Somehow I ended up in Tinley Park. I ended up at a truckstop and got a ride back to Ohio. It was an exhausting trip. I've never hitchhiked since then. That is my Chicago story, lol.

Welcome - ever get out to the Fox River Trail System? It's a great place to ride, nice trails, and my favorite spot to ride. I live about a mile off the entrance in North Aurora.

Remember in the movie "Stand By Me", you couldn't get in the tree house without it.
Welcome, anyways.
