My hideous bike...
The biking world is funny. I was dumb enough to post a picture of my commuter bike in the roadie section while answering a question. However, this hideous bike will take me between 4,000 and 5,000 miles in its first year. And, that is solely commuting and occasional
short trips.
I think any bike that is ridden as bikes are meant to be are beautiful bikes. Do you have a beautiful bike?

Kindaslow Your bike is definitely not hideous and is definitely viable as transportation, commuting or whatever. The 41 section is sort of schizophrenic, lot of A-holes but a lot of nice people, too. Don't let it get you down.
Keep on biking.
Keep on biking.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.
There are no "hideous bikes". There is only "use other than intended".

This bike is a nice bike, functional, and decent looking for a commuter (my opinion). Commuter bikes need to be based on function for the user and sometimes that means less clean lines.

That bike looks purty to me, and I'm not even a fan of black/dark-dark-grey. Looking at your bike reminds me, is it just me, or are the latest bicycle designs decoupling the seat tube from the seat stays and head tube? The stays seem to go around the seat tube and connect/merge directly with the top tube...

Vintage Campy on a classic with your surname on it = Beautiful
edit: pedals = hideous, but temporary.

Not so beautiful, but most functional for riding anywhere = triple chainring and 28mm tires.

Haven't ridden on Bainbridge Is. and only a little on Kitsap. I'm always headed to the Port Angeles & Forks areas for riding. Getting to the San Juans is my goal for later this spring.

No matter how many times I rode the ferry while I lived up there, the view coming into Seattle never got old.
I stopped paying attention to their opinions in the 41 when someone in Hot or Not said they didn't like the "vintage" look. Well, I have "vintage" look bikes that I bought new before a lot of them were born.
If your bike makes you happy, that's all that matters.

In large part, I am trying to have a little fun with the silliness of some people. I cannot imagine anyone, besides friends giving each other crud, calling someone else's bike ugly, or hideous. I believe any bike that is loved by its owner and ridden s a great bike. I do not understand the vintage love, but I respect it. And, I like visiting with folks about their bikes, even when the bikes are from a style that is not mine, if there is passion.
