50+ Jersey anyone?

I've been thinking for awhile now about designing a custom jersey and thought a "FIFTY PLUS" jersey might be kinda neat. I started playing with a design, for the jersey and here is what I've come up with so far. The collar says "Fifty Plus 50+", the right sleeve says "We may be over the hill, but only til we start up the next one!" The design is ongoing so let me know what ya'll think. If anyone is interested we can put a group order together, and matching bib shorts are also available if a full kit is desired.

I like it! But I'm price sensitive (aka cheap). Yes at $50, maybe at $75, no at $100. Subscribed to the thread to follow it!

There was a group-order for 50+ jerseys about 5 years ago. I finally lost enough weight to wear mine. They're red. Reminds me the Star Trek "Red Shirt" people.
I'd be a maybe for this one, by the way.

It looks like you're leaning towards a race-fit roadie jersey. If that is the case, you need to lose a lot of spokes from that wheel. Most roadbike wheels are 20/24 f/r or 28 r for heavier riders. Also, why the Bike Forums logo - lose that too unless Bike Forums is paying you. Otherwise nice overall design, if a bit Blue Angels looking.

Always looking for in the cheap, cycling wear never qualifies. The closest I get is buying the new electric green t-shirts for less than $5 each.

Here’s what those former jerseys looked like (see below). They were made available by @ccorlew. I don’t wear cycling jerseys but I thought that one was clever, imitating a road sign of the famous US Route 50. BTW, the lady in the photo is @Miss Kenton.

Another change IMO is the seeming disappearance of self-identified females from those good old days. Miss Kenton, Miss Jean, and Beverly come immediately to mind as the Women of Fifty-Plus, since I have met them all in person. I considered Miss K the doyenne of the Forum with her savvy and witty posts.

The Clydesdale & Athena forum have done group orders in the past. I have one of them from about five years ago. I'd probably be interested in a 50+ jersey if the price wasn't too astronomical.

OK I am in the process of changing the wheel to a 24 spoke if ya'll think that will be better. BIKE FORUM isn't paying to have the logo on the shirt, but then again I'm not paying them to post it either. I just thought that this is where we meet up to post and discuss this stuff so I thought I'd add it. If the majority don't want it on the jersey it can be removed. Anyone want to see anything added? The advertised cost is $52 for the first ten and then the price starts to drop if the order is larger, so $52 plus shipping. I wasn't going for a Blue Angel look but more for highly visible.

Looks good. I'm in if you can get 10 orders. Does the price increase if there's more graphics or text? Looks like plenty of real estate on the back pockets.

No additional charge for more graphics that I'm aware of. Give me some ideas!

I bought one of the original design red jerseys and I quite like it. That said, I'm interested in this new design and I'd place an order as long as pricing isn't too steep.

How about tossing into the hat a favourite quote? And as the designer, you choose the final submission.

Mine would be something like: "Youth is wasted on the young." Either George Bernard Shaw or Oscar Wilde iirc.

I like the color combination, overall design and the wheel with fewer spokes (good change!). I have one of the original 50+ jerseys that Curtis designed but this one is different enough that I might buy one of these two.

One thing I insist on (not everyone agrees) is a full-zip. That's really the only thing I don't like about the Curtis 50+ jersey but at the time that was not an option. I think full-zip is accepted a lot more readily these days than it was back when the Curtis 50+ designed.

RE: bikeforums.net logo, yes I think that should be on the jersey because that's what brought us all (well, most of us) together.

I like it. I'm in.

You will need to give us some good dimensions or compatible on the market jerseys to get the correct fit.

I'd rather have a 60+ too. Actually if there is enough demand for 50+ and 60+ it may be economical enough for each.
