A couple years ago I bought a Garmin Edge 200. Pretty basicbut it is so much easier to deal with than bike computers. It came with three mounts so I can switch it from my Guru to my Masi to my Colnago in a second. So much better than having to deal with my Cateyes or some such.

I don't have a power meter because they're expensive; I'd like to have one, powerful or not. I have a speedometer, that doesn't mean I'm fast.
If anyone gets serious about training, no matter how old and feeble they might be, they're going to have some stuff and do some things that the rest of us aren't having/doing.

I've given up on all the handlebar gadgets, too. Bought a Garmin Vivoactive with HR strap. Now, nothing to move from bike to bike. Connected to my smart phone, with Garmin Live track, my wife can see were I'm at, and txt me if I stop longer than 5 mins. When I get home, down load all the data to Sporttraks an upload to Stava and , done.

I took off my computer about five years ago and don't miss it at all. I thought I really depended on it and I've had many different kinds but now I just keep track of how much time I ride and that's all. I know at 67 and post heart attack that I'm slower and now I just try to enjoy myself. However, in my head I pay attention to cadence and try not to coast a lot. YMMV.
