Poor Performance

So last week Tuesday I decide I need a new set of bibs and I find a pair of Castelli's at Performance. I have a 10% off coupon code and its free shipping, sounds great. Well its now been 7 days since my order and no bibs. They ship from Charlotte and I am in Miami, what gives?

I swear everytime I order something from Performance or Nashbar their shipping is the worst of any online store I have ever delt with. Everytime I do this I say the same thing, never again, but then I go and place another order. They will not even do a trace for 10 days from shipping, so I guess I just wait some more. Sometimes a deal is not a deal.

If you order through the Performance Link on BFN, you get 2 day delivery upgrade and BFN gets 5% of the order.

Also, I used a coupon code in the "Coupon Code" section and I got 10% off.

I didn't know about the upgrade - but I'm a team performance member and already get one. I've been ordering through the link as much as possible.

Dnvr - thanks for the info I didn't know that. It certainly would have helped.

I may be wrong there - it may be I got the upgrade just because I am a Team Performance member. I guess one would have to try it!

The invoice states,

"Bike Club 2-day upgrade" which I assumed meant the BFN "Bike Club." I assume it would have said, "Team Performance 2 day upgrade" if it was the result of my "Team Performance" membership???

I wonder if getting people to join their club is what drives their poor shipping. They figure they will make it sooo painful that joining the club is the only option. I buy a fair amount of stuff on-line, there are couple of electronics places I use in California; monoprice and newegg which will almost always have the order shipped the same day you place it and I have never waiting more than 3 days and that is from the west coast. I just can't fathom why it would take 7+ days to get an order from a distributor that is just 700 miles away. You almost have to pay extra to get the service to be that slow.

The problem many times is that they don't have the merchandise in stock and do not notify the buyer!

I've ordered from them three times, and am not a team member. My longest wait was 5 days.

I order frequently from Performance and I've only had one problem. For some strange reason the order didn't get into their system. When I contacted them they had it at my front door two days later. I am a member and get the 2-day shipping option.

Recently I've been ordering clothing from Voler. I really like their return system. They ship the order with a return envelope and they pay all shipping other than the original shipping charge.

I try to avoid ordering from Performance or Nashbar if possible. Years ago, it wasn't too bad, but it seems to have gone downhill. Jenson is the best-your order is usually shipped next day, and they e-mail you with tracking info as soon as it is shipped. I place two orders recently, both shipped the day after the order was placed, and only took 3-4 days by regular UPS to get here (of course, the UPS hub is in Louisville, so we might have an advantage!).

I don't normally order from Performance but I frequently order from Nashbar. Never had a problem with shipping or returning items.

I have always wondered about this as Nashbar is owned by the Evil Empire.
