[QUOTE=Coyote!;5029563]There are no charms in cycling so great that sane folks should endure physiologically hazardous conditions. Emergencies are one thing, but temperatures and humidity hurtling toward three digits are prime indicators to Chill-The-Heck-OUT. Apart from exercising type-A behavior [bless us, preserve us, and mostly spare us], I can't think of any training benefit. .

Coyote, Intellectually, I know that what you are right in what you are saying. My heart, however, really wants to do the dairyland dare 100k this sat. in spite of the predictions of 88deg with 65% humidity and 20mph winds(out of the south). Sometimes its a good thing that I live a lot more in my head. But you know: if the winds hold off and it really doesn't get to 88...

If you are in decent shape, if you take it easy, if you drink plenty of fluids and electrolytes, if you pay attention to your body and don't ignore when it tells you to rest or cool down, I don't see any reason not to do that ride. 88 is warm enough that the wind chill won't be too bad.
