I live in Whittier, California which is in the southern part of Los Angeles county. However, I have ridden in both Irvine and Tustin and (unlike Pam) I don't have a problem with either one. Both, in fact, are far better suited to bicycle travel than Whittier!

I also feel that I should point out that (to the best of my knowledge/experience) Pam is actually neither angry, nor grumpy, nor old (doesn't look over 50 to me!). Then again, we've never discussed illegals, so maybe that's why . . .

Rick / OCRR (I did ride with BCI once!)

Many of the banks in my area used to ask if you wanted your transaction in English or Spanish.

Edit:
OOPS....hit the send key too soon.

They had so many complaints that the default is now English. If you want Spanish you have to make a special selection.

OK OK I never said riding in Irvine is bad, if fact, it's a wonderfully lovely place to ride with all its lovely streets and bike paths, perfect houses that look alike, no bright colors, everything uniform... I just realized?!?! It's the Disneyland of cities!!!!

I like Tustin, it's eclectic and funky... so really nice properties and some well, not so nice. I do live near "mullet row". This is a compound of houses with large pick up trucks and dead cars live together with the Mullet boys and their families, Grandma and Grandpa Mullet, the Mullet Children and even a Mullet Dog. The police are usually there every Friday night after Cousin Mullet has had a few drinks too many.

Iffin you ever come to visit me, turn left off the freeway, cruise by Mullet Row (trust me you will know!) and there I am! Just this side of Irvine where houses are some color other than beige!

Sometimes I see a post - "I saw a wild trigolasauraus yesterday. We have a lot of them around HERE!

But, I have no clue where HERE is!

If you go to your

"User Control Panel"

"Edit Profile"

and near the bottom is a place for "Location"

Now, you don't need to put your home address in, but a state or region would be GREAT!

That location will show just below your Avatar.

Thanks.
SE PA, in a bike paradise called Chester County.

Not certain Alice if your post referenced me... I think I may speak for all the OC folks but it's better to be from Irvine than LA, not that there is anything wrong with LA but you know, OC is well, a totally different place - we have Disney for gosh sakes (can you tell I am currently obsessed with Disney?) and Knotts Berry Farm. It's wholesome and clean, and very beige!

My Road ID has this on the back, just in case I end up on a distant planet and get in a bike accident.

Cross the California state line, sniff, and follow the cow smell. Mo' town here is known for a fairly recent nationally covered murder, the genesis of American Grafitti, and my enchiladas. Our city motto, lit up across the railroad tracks for all to see, is "Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health". And anybody who doesn't agree, say the authorities, can damn well git out. We're also known for our ground fog.

Oh. Indeed, and I thought it was so obvious I didn't note it.
