I change mine every few days. This was taken on a solo ride a few weeks ago, just outside Lincoln, CA. Fun thread.

Here's my Volvo S60R sitting atop the Snowy Range 40 miles west of Laramie. The pass is 10,800 ft. Medicine Bow Peak in the background is just over 12,000. The pic was featured on the back cover of "Rolling" Magazine (Volvo Club of America) in Dec 2004. Come out and see what it's lke up there sometime (I'll even take you to the top and let you coast back to town)!

How?

I have never looked at posting a picture from here or otherwise, but when I looked at the 'Control Panel' and other places I couldn't figure it out.

Can someone talk me through it?

Slowly.

***Since it is a lovely picture of Salma Hayek it would probably be worth the effort.***

Here's my path for changing the background. I have Windows XP.
Control panel

Change desktop background
Hit browse and select a picture

Your guess is as good as mine. That sounds about right. It was something that I downloaded...

It reminds me a little bit of Chino Hills State Park in the summer down here in LA...

Sorry I didn't phrase that better. What I'm asking is how to post my desktop, or any other type of picture, here on the forum................

Excellent pictures all.

My only complaint -- no that's not true, I got lots today cuz I gots the Stink eye -- is that some of the photos above have limited resolution, preventing me from ripping them off to my own diesk-top.

Your post was pretty clear....my reading skills are hampered by a severe sinus infection today

I went through the same problems trying to post pictures to the forum. Some of the members finally talked me through it. Here's what I do.

- Upload my pictures to photobucket.com
- After upload I copy the "direct link" displayed below the picture
- Back to BF and reply to the thread, hit the "insert image" icon directly above the text area (it looks like a yellow envelope with a mountain on it)
- Clicking on the icon will bring up a "Explorer user prompt"
- Paste the copied "direct link" from Photobucket into box
- This should allow you to post a picture to the forum

It took me awhile but I finally got the hang of it

My Bernese Mountain Dog's half-sister just placed in the Agility Nationals...That is an amazing* thing for a dog that big.
Thanks. The photo was taken by a dear friend from Arkansas who happens to be one of the most gifted people I have ever met. Besides being a terrific photographer (with some very nice equipment), she is a top notch environmental engineer, an accomplished canoeist and wilderness backpacker. She is Polish and has the most wonderful accent ever. That particular photo was taken at a trial in Memphis in the spring of 2007.

THIS photo was taken at the Nationals, by a professional photographer.

I tend to use the same ones for a long time since it's hard to find decent wallpaper for dual-monitor setups. Using ordinary wallpaper results in Doublemint twins. I try to find things that break naturally in the center so that each half looks okay on its own screen, yet, if you squint out the break, looks okay in full..

Currently on my XP box now, is a photo I took. This is the new "signature" bridge here in downtown Rochester, which carries I-490 across the Genesee River. In the foreground is a dam that keeps the river navigable south to the Erie Canal.

In the past, I've used this satellite composite from NASA, which I cropped and adjusted

Under Linux, I use a similar NASA composite

Huh. I seem to prefer dark blue too. Never really paid attention to that before.

OK, that is FANTASTIC. Those jumping shots are seriously hard to time and take mad skills to get.
