I also have photos from all the Colorado passes (Tennessee, Fremont, Berthoud, Grand Mesa etc). from the past 8 years of riding there each summer.
Here are a few from 2017 when I was out there for 2 weeks. We climbed Monarch from both sides.

Just checking in. It appears that I was the second post in this thread 10 years ago. Lots of new members. Some have disappeared.
Still riding, but not as fast or as far. These days I just dawdle along, stopping often to smell (and photograph) the roses and other sights.

68 coming up and still as mustard keen. But these days I'm more into virtual riding, racing. We could do with more over 65s in Zwift racing. Competition certainly keeps us going and trying far harder and further than we would otherwise. Available 365 d/yr, no hassles with weather or traffic, and the racing, although different from out IRL, takes skills and craft. There's some folks who are over 75 who are seriously strong and able, which must give encouragement to us all. Sensible diet, plenty of exercise and a sunny and youthful spirit, and we're all set to enjoy our maturity.

Well I've turned 69, will be 70 later this year, but that's only 20.6 Celsius.
I found this a few years back, don't know if it belongs here. Cyclists never grow old, just slower. Greg LeMond said something similar, but it ended "you just go faster" I guess with all this cycling we have quite a few years left, but my view of mortality have changed, or even only just developed in the last year or so.
OLD MEN
Ogden Nash (1902-1971)
People expect old men to die,
They do not really mourn old men.
Old men are different. People look
At them with eyes that wonder when...
People watch with unshocked eyes;
But the old men know when an old man dies.

I was on my bike in Mt Rainier NP when a younger couple with 2 bikes on top, slowed and said, ‘You are our model, we want to be like you in the future.’ All I could respond with was, ‘Missy, be careful what you ask for...’ as they drove off.

Be 80 in a couple months. Tried Zwift and can't stand to be passed by EVERY rider. Much like Strava Zwift so far is ignoring 75 plus. Zwift claims to have formula/adjustments to compensate for age. - but I sure can't see it and they refused to explain. Gave up on Zwift. May be hope in future with new virtual cycling program (CVRcade) built by guy that developed many of Zwift's first rides - remember CASH and prizes?. Beta due in Dec. Re: diet, exercise and spirit - agree 100%. The older you get fewer riding companions are available. Don't give up biking - it is probably the best thing you can to to live a longer and healthier life.

I've got so many bikes and such a big world, hope to avoid the virtual reality, or should I say - artificial reality - of riding indoors.
Lucky in life = priceless
YMMV

Thanks John, I'm where you are...turn 70 this July. I knew I'd get old, I just didn't know it would happen this quickly.
Loved the poem and I can relate. I'm slower but happy to be able to ride, especially since my heart attack five years ago. I wouldn't mind having a riding partner but yea...not easy to find. But I don't mind riding alone either, lets me stop and smell the roses and send the occasional text to my kids and grandkids letting the know how much I love them.Blessings to you. Wear bright colors and use a "blinky".

Guys,
Didn't this forum used to have some sort of annual regional ride/get together in the past? Does that still happen?
Or maybe I have my forums confused?

uhh..........Serotta riders? Or? I bought the Serotta there (Samamish Cycles-Redmond). In 1981 I bought a Miyata at Pine Street. Several bikes since. I rode with the old Rainbow team for a while. When we moved to Bend, I found my old wool Rainbow Jersey. I can’t believe I was once that small.......should have kept it as a ideal weight goal-lol

Much of the discussion seems to be on staying active. This week I had my annual visit to my cardiologist. He noticed that I have dropped a few pounds. I can only attribute that to an increase in riding. I need the weather to break, however. I've decided that it has to be at least 37 F to ride. I'll be 72 this year.

in 2 more days!
